This watersculpture honors the sun. On the physical plane, it is the sun that
most accurately reflects Divine power, for it is the sun which sustains all life
on the planet. When we feel energized after digesting a meal, it is the sun's
energy, stored in the plants and the animals who eat them, that we are
experiencing. This life-giving power of the sun, "hidden" within the plants,
fuels our lives.
In the same way, it is the mysterious unseen power of the Divine that
sustains our existence. Hidden within every form as its inmost essence, it is
this power that energizes us, awakens us from our deep sleep of
unconsciousness, and guides us in our journey to wholeness. Within us, we
experience this life-force as renewed enthusiasm and vitality, creativity,
clarity, and inspiration.
The Gift aims to kindle in its beholder deep appreciation for the gift of
human birth -- to awaken the awareness that our lives are a precious
opportunity to explore our depths and discover our unity with the universe.
