SRI YANTRA

Rooted in the mystic symbolism of ancient Vedic culture, yantras are geometric
mandalas with profound metaphysical meaning.  Regarded as the most powerful
of all yantras, the Sri Yantra has been used for centuries in meditation as a tool
for the transformation of consciousness.

The geometry of the Sri Yantra embodies a profound mystical insight: we exist in
a universe where all the polarities of life are harmoniously united, held in perfect
equilibrium by an indivisible Center. The inmost centerpoint is enveloped by the
inverted triangle (symbolizing the cosmic womb), and represents the Root Matrix
of all creation, birthing the world of multiplicity out of its formless Infinitude.

On the personal level, this centerpoint represents the innermost core of our
being--our inherent Divinity. This Reality can be experienced in our human lives,
as we free ourselves from the illusion of separateness and egotism. The
numerous upward and downward pointing triangles express the dance of polar
opposites--male and female energies, spirit and matter. They reflect the forces
of duality, contained within the whole, eternally united and held in a state of
harmony and balance.

The Sri Yantra invites us to experience unity with the greater cosmos by
journeying to the depths of our own center. There we discover ourselves to be a
sacred part of a sacred cosmos, in which all elements of existence are
connected.
