Annie Harrison Designs   Sacred Watersculpture
SOLSTICE

The mandala in the center of the sculpture speaks of our individual journey to
wholeness. The black half-circle with its square like opening represents the world
into which we are born -- a world made of opposites. Heat and cold, pleasure and
pain, male and female, life and death, joy and sorrow -- these polarities seem to
characterize our  experience on the Earth plane. Traveling toward the center we find
an opaque glass circle, the universal symbol of wholeness and Self-Realization.
The circle is also the symbol of the Unmanifested, the Source of All That Is. In the
very center of the mandala rests a translucent  turquoise agate in the shape of the
inverted triangle, ancient symbol of the Sacred Feminine --  the creative womb of the
Universe. From this inner chamber flows a stream of crystal clear water, cascading
gently over translucent turquoise glass. Like all the sculptures in the series, this
sculpture is illuminated from within.
