Lakshmi's Blessing honors the energies of growth and becoming,
unfoldment and ripening. Lakshmi, the Hindu Goddess of abundance
and prosperity, is an expression of the Divine in Her power of fertility and
organic growth. She represents the hidden power that unfurls the petals
of every silky pink rose, that calls forth the butterfly from its cocoon, that
beckons all life to grow and to expand.
She is associated with the mysterious renewal of life that occurs every
spring-- the greening of the earth after the long freeze of winter. Also, as
represented by the mother-of-pearl disc in the center of the triangular
opening, Lakshmi's energy is embodied in the full moon. Within us, she
is that hidden power that "grows" us -- uncovering and developing our
innate talents and gifts, inviting us to expand beyond our own limited
definitions, blossoming us into our truest selves, that we may express our
fullest potential, and reflect the Divine through our human lives.
