Imagine this:
You seek rest, for your body and spirit have grown weary with many cares and responsibilities. Before you stands a monument of ancient rock. From this rock flows an unending stream of pure crystal clear water. As you gaze upon this well springing forth from the stone, you become transfixed. The ever-changing patterns of light glimmer and sparkle as they dance with the living waters. Your mind begins to quiet, your breathing slows. The tension you've been holding in your body dissipates, and you feel yourself begin to relax. Resting in this place of inner quiet, you experience an increasing sense of well-being. You feel refreshed, renewed, revitalized. Your mind becomes clear. In the stillness, creative solutions seem to flow as easily as the water flows before you. You feel inspired -- optimistic, empowered from within, nourished by the deep wellspring of your own inner resources.
At this time in history, we have a great opportunity for transformation, both as individuals and within our society. Essential to our renewal is learning to experience the earth and all life on her as sacred. The physical structure of "Sacred Elements" embodies the four material elements -- earth, air, fire and water. The Sacred Geometry within the sculptures honors the deeper, non-material dimensions of our existence. My intention in creating these sculptures is threefold: to bring harmony, balance and tranquility to a physical space, to invite the "quieting of spirit" that is needed to access one's own inner guidance, creativity, power and vision, and to awaken in the viewer a sense of the sacred, both within and without.
